Journey to Angkor Wat!
Discovering a Magical Place
About 900 years ago, King Suryavarman II built Angkor Wat in Cambodia to honor the god Vishnu. The temple was designed to look like a holy mountain and has walls covered with carvings of gods and stories. Angkor was part of a huge city with amazing canals and reservoirs that helped people grow rice all year. Over time, it changed from a Hindu temple to a Buddhist temple. By the 1400s, the city declined, and the jungle grew around it. But Angkor Wat was never forgotten. In the 1800s, explorers shared it with the world, and today it’s one of the most famous temples on Earth.
A Student-Led Mission to Protect the World’s Largest Temple
Angkor Wat is more than just a monument — it is a living symbol of history, culture, and human creativity. Its intricate carvings and towering spires have stood for nearly 900 years, but today this global treasure faces urgent threats: erosion, theft, overcrowding, and climate impacts. We are a team of passionate students who believe that safeguarding Angkor Wat is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity to unite technology, community, and compassion for the future.
